Activists houses raided; Tent City solidarity; broken wrist

Just heard that a number people were arrested in home raids last night.  Basically meant to intimidate.  Here is more. My thoughts are with them. Stay strong.  Jail solidarity at Eastern Ave after rally.

I am feeling pretty emotional about this past couple of days.  Very happy and encouraged about all the wonderful organizing and commitment I have seen here. There was a 2200 person Indigenous solidarity march this week. Wow!  When has that happened before?  It will happen again!

Last night there was a march from an NGO sponsored event (thank you Naomi Klein, Amy Goodman and Clayton Thomas Mueller for asking the tough questions and challenging us out of our comfort zones!!) to the Tent City set up after yesterday’s rally against local poverty and displacement that the G20 and capitalism have brought in their wake.  It was an emotional show of solidarity for these groups to come together as they did.

I broke my wrist falling of my bike (not G20 related)!  It caused me to spend a lot of time in hospital, rather than on the streets yesterday.  All is good, out 4-6 weeks. No pain. Typing difficult.

I will still be covering the rallies today, just a bit slower.

I will comment on the G8-G20 meetings, communiques, etc… tonight – stay tuned!!
